West Herefordshire Poplars Wood on the market

An opportunity to own a piece of Herefordshire woodland, with its many positive assets has been launched to the market by Balfours.

The woodland at The Poplars, Blakemere is located eleven miles west of Hereford and six miles from the pretty villages of Peterchurch and Kingstone. A mature wood of poplars, it extends nearly 10 acres and benefits from roadside access.

Balfours partner, Scott Kemsley comments: “This is a fabulous opportunity for anyone looking for an investment with positive environmental and tax credentials. The Poplar wood is a carbon sequester and can improve water quality too.

“Add to this that Poplar timber is an excellent choice for the manufacture of interior designs. In addition, there is currently a soaring demand in high-end industries like campervans, trains, yachts and boats, where it is used for interiors and furnishing. The timber is also an excellent bioenergy crop.

“Of course, as woodland it is a fabulous amenity, with shooting rights included and the opportunity to enhance wildlife through conservation,” Scott adds. The wood extends 9.53 acres or 3.86 hectares and is marketed with a guide price of £75,000.
