Ludlow and South Shropshire property outstanding value for money

Ludlow, revered as a gem for visitors – has another string to its’ bow – property prices are below the national average by more than £23,000 according to Right Move.

It comes as no surprise to Balfours partner and Ludlow sales manager, Scott Kemsley, who is based in the town’s King Street: “Without doubt those seeking homes in and around Ludlow are getting exceptional value for money, compared to many places in the UK.”

Scott, who has worked in property in several countries across the world, knows the praise poured on Ludlow and South Shropshire is very well deserved. “To quote one National paper this week: ‘Ludlow, a quaint market town in Shropshire, has been officially recognised as one of the UK’s most charming destinations boasting a unique fusion of historical significance and stunning country scenery.’”

“Combining quality of life and health with affordable house prices has to be a win, win in an age where many companies support flexi-homeworking,” Scott adds.

Rightmove statistics show terraced houses were the most frequently sold property type, averaging £251,123, while detached homes fetched £383,990 and semi-detached properties sold for £305,148.

“When it comes to property and where you live the words ‘location, location, location’ come to mind. Ludlow and its surrounds are blessed with charm, culture, countryside, food and festivals. People who move here recognise what fantastic value for money it offers and almost inevitably put down roots for life,” he concludes.
